RedesignMe.com is now English only

Last week we decided to switch our community platform to English only. The reason behind this is that 60% of our community is English speaking. The other 40% is Dutch. Since most Dutch people can read and write English we decided to make this switch. In the end, RedesignMe.com is all about collaboration. Not being able to understand eachother’s posts had a negative effect on collaboration sometimes, despite the fact that we intergrated automatic translation tools. Enjoy, the new redesignme.com! … Continue reading

Succesful logo co-creation for 2 start-ups

Last month two start-ups placed a logo Challenge on RedesignMe.com. The first was “Social Matters“, a company specialized in helping companies incorporate social media strategies. The second was “Poedercoating Bolsward“, a company offering Powder Coating processes. Social Matters received no less than 49 designs based on a quite extensive briefing and intense follow ups of its Community Manager (the ceo herself!). Powder Coating Bolsward received 30 designs. Both Challenges have proven succesful. Statistics do show that because of the close … Continue reading

Spotted: Co-create London

London based Co-creation agency Face Group is asking Londoners how to make their city a better place through the website http://www.cocreatelondon.com/ Although right now it isn’t more than a simple ideabox which isn’t exactly co-creation, the idea has potential. The final ideas generated by the public are pitched to the mayor of London. Of course it would have had more impact if the mayor would participate in the online discussions himself. Right now there’s the risk of the platform becoming … Continue reading

Co-creation communities are worthless without user metrics

RedesignMe.com has been running for over 2 years and hosts a select group of designers, marketeers and consumers. From day 1 we have been closely watching our member’s online behaviour inside of our community. This lead us to some interesting observations. User categories Some members send in a lot of designs and concepts, others just love to rate ideas and write comments while another group only seems to browse the site now and then without posting anything. These conclusions came … Continue reading

Improved page headers

Of course we are constantly testing the usability of RedesignMe.com. We also listen to our users. One of the often heard complaints was the difficulty of distinction between a product (or challenge) page and a Redesign page. They looked too much the same. On a Redesign page the relation with the original was uncleared. We solved this with this new page header. This also accomodates for the future Redesign of a Redesign functionality. Continue reading
