Insights from the real world

Certainly, documents like research papers, conference reports and books can (and most of the time do) give us useful insights in the world of co-creation. Academic research provides us with pillars to contruct our tools on and methods for us to connect companies to their consumers, clients and co-workers. But isn’t it interesting to actually take some of our own projects into scope, and see how we’ve dealt with the clients’ specific project?

We’ll at least that’s what we’ve thought. Therefor we recently published 3 clientcases on our corporate website. Together with clients like ANWB, Pickwick and Schiphol Airport we tried to summarize the projects we did together. The analysis, based on our 3-step approach, gives you insights on what approach we took and which tools we used to answer a specific business need. Continue reading

The ultimate co-creation logo! Co-created!

Co-creation & Crowdsourcing

Nowadays co-creation and crowdsourcing are both hot topics. Articles and the media aren’t always showing the differences between them correctly and often they describe it in too many words. A reason for that could be that a good visualization is hard to find. Just check out the images for ‘co-creation’ and ‘crowdsourcing’ on Google.

We, at Redesignme, think it would be enlightening to develop two symbols, one for each method, that visualize what those keywords stand for, but also indicate the difference between one another.

The conscience of our community

As a co-creative company we interact with our community members on Redesignme Connect on an ongoing basis. We maintain an active relationship throughout the platform via our forum and throughout the challenges. Feedback and ideas by the Redesigners about the platform pop up everywhere, which is absolutely awesome. When we implement new features, we explain them via the website, the forum or a newsletter. Next to this input and conversations, we wanted to know more about the community on a quantitative basis. Therefore we conducted a questionnaire among our community members. In this post we want to share the most valuable insights for when you are interested in starting a challenge yourself. Continue reading

Redesignme introduces co-creation application for Facebook

EINDHOVEN May 31th 2011 – New social application enables companies to let their fans generate ideas on Facebook.

Netherlands based co-creation and market research firm Redesignme added a new product to its set of co-creation tools. Companies that are represented on Facebook are able to implement creative ‘Challenges’ to their fan base, by using a Social Application.

Founder and CEO of Redesignme Maxim Schram explains: “We see more company pages added to Facebook every day. Dutch retail store HEMA has gained more than 27.000 fans (people liking their page) and the international giant Red Bull recently reached the number of 18 million fans. Unfortunately in most cases there is little interaction taking place between brands and their Facebook fans. This changes with the introduction of our new application.” Continue reading

RedesignMe.com becomes Redesignme Connect

The world keeps spinning and change seems to be the only constant factor. Hanging in is not an option. At Redesignme, we review the  quality of our products and services every day, which resulted in some fresh improvements. As our valued connection, we would like to inform you about the shifts we have in mind.

Today is the kick-off of a series of important changes we will roll out in the upcoming months. Starting off with a very practical one. As you know, we have a creative community that goes by the name of RedesignMe.com. Back in the day, it all started with this community and , needless to say, we treasure  all the fantastic output the community is bringing us. However, due to our growth in the past years and the expansion of our services and products, we started redesigning ourself a little bit to put it all in perspective.

The creative community RedesignMe.com will continue as Redesignme Connect from this very moment. Our active members may have already noticed; when you visit redesignme.com you are being redirected to the new connect.redesignme.com.  Following, we will adapt this new name to all texts and logos on the website and  in our communication.

As mentioned, this is our first step and others will follow in the upcoming months. Through this and other channels we will keep you informed about our next steps and changes in the near future.

Keep giving us feedback!

Having a blog is not only about shooting theories into the blogosphere. The main objective of a blog is to inspire readers and that is exactly what we aim for. Fun is essential for inspiration and fortunately that is one of our core values. Daily new inspiration occurs when you open up to new insights. A (fun) way of getting inspired is music. Here at Redesignme, most of us are dedicated music lovers, so why not share some tips to enclose music into your company and engage your employees on the go.

The roles of a co-creative consumer

Joyce van Dijk, a master student at Wageningen University, recently presented a comprehensive paper about ‘the co-creative consumer’. Our creative community Redesignme.com has been mentioned as a platform that facilitates consumers into ‘the role of ideator’. The subtitle of her paper is; Exploring the changing consumer/producer relations and consumer roles in modern product innovation practices’. In this blogpost we would like to highlight the most important findings of Joyce’s paper regarding the different roles of consumers within a co-creation process. You can read more about Joyce and read/download her paper at her weblog ‘Joyce Discovers’. In addition to her paper Joyce also interviewed some practitioners who deal with co-creation in their profession, to explore their views on co-creation. Our co-creation consultant Ingrid de Laat also participated in one of these interviews.

Book review : The Conversation Manager

In 2010 Steven van Belleghem introduced a new term; the conversation manager. To explain the working area of this new officer he wrote a constructive book about it (with the same title). Here at RedesignMe we embrace the insights the book gives and give it as a present to every new customer. The message of the book is simple: “The digital environment we are living in has evolved from a static one into a highly dynamic one.” With a RedesignMe.com community of over 7000 creatives we have learned about Conversation Management (or community management) the hard way.
