The dispensing of cards can be similar as the operation of an ATM. An ATM counts the money it is giving, and subtracts the amount from your bill. If accidentally money is left inside the machine, you are refunded.

There are also blue devices that look the same as the yellow ones to check your credit. Sometimes people use the blue one to check-in (LOL). Even though there is only 1 blue and many yellow devices, somehow people still get confused. Perhaps it would be a better idea to remove all the blue ones and use the machine to check your credit instead.
