pedro March 28, 2008, 8:13 pm "I think Betavine.Mobi needs a clearer opening page. Show what you can do with it. What's the newest and hottest app. Ability to quickly comment on a just downloaded app, ie: features I wish, bugs, etc.. Ability to easiliy tell what interests me, then the next time "specially for you picked" apps wll show on the main page. Choose one time my OS and then never bother me with the question again. More Icons, less text." reply

Maikel March 30, 2008, 8:47 pm "Some ideas: 1) Let consumer choose phone brand and model and Betavine will determine platform. 2) What's the use of the numbers in front of the menu items, is this a restaurant menu? 3) Write user-friendly descriptions of the apps without too much protocol info. The descriptions that are displayed after pressing 'download' look more user friendly than the summaries in the application overview. " reply

kamal April 3, 2008, 2:31 pm "Right now on the home page the site shows a featured app. this should be replaced by the most downloaded or most favoured app. I felt that the color combination also needs to be changed say light yellow and pink fonts on white background is not that readable. Imagine if your mobile screen display is not that good, or you are trying to read it at afternoon when the sun is shining, you won't be able to read it properly. Also do take care of designing the pages so that it can be accessible for color blind people. You might use this website to check it how a colorblind person may see it. http://colorfilter.wickline.org It would be better if the last five posts of the most discussed posts are highlighted (if possible on the homepage page). Your server might be able to determine the mobile phone from which one is accessing the site and thus can provide only those applications that would run on his/her mobile. It would be a lot more easier for the user or a noob who might wonder what is running on his phone a symbian s60 based or UIQ based OS. To display the game or application you might make use of GIF images which are compressed and animated. i.e it would show 3 screenshot of the app, so that the user gets an idea of what he is downloading or how the app looks. And compressed one would save bandwidth and would load fast. Also Round corners would look better on the current templates " reply

I'm also not sure if people would actually use the forum function from their mobile phone. Some my advise would be more and bigger icons, less text. Cheers!" reply

Use the phone as a market research tool - hey wait design an application to make market research doable via a phone - I came from springwise, donate the money to them.
