AJ210 Clockradio by Philips

By Redesigner: dvolaric Placed on: 2007-11-22 00:00:00 This is probably the most slick designed clock radio at the moment. Cool! I must have it! I thought...Unpacked it, plugged it, and it works! The color led on the left shows the weather forecast, awesome! Ok, bedtime..hmm..that led is very bright isn't it? Specially when it's on a yellow color. Bright enough to light up the room and keep you awake. And on a minor detail, the display says "forecast" with an arrow pointing to the right. But the (super bright) led is on the left! Other than the visual attractive design, it's not really something to have next to your bed.

The only reason I would combined a bright light and a clock would be to simulate a sun rise. I don't get the arrow since in the user manual they show it pointing up and down and your image shows it just pointing out. Maybe it's telling you to go find a window and look outside. By and by...as per the instructions Illumination brightness Press REPEAT ALARM/brightness control once or more. The brightness of the display can be adjusted: High > Low > OFF > High" reply

The only way to turn it off is to unplug it from the power socket and have it run on it's batteries. However, even then the LED goes on every 10 minutes or so and burns for 10 seconds. It's not like I am in bed and worried what the weather is outside so it needs to remind me every 10 minutes. Not very well thought off....And don't get me started on the new Philips Sunrise simulator thingy. Overpriced and repulsive design!" reply
