In my opinion it was a good decision to keep a good overview and peacefull view. Do people get a overview after they made their choices? That would also be usefull I think. Good luck"

For instance, your starting point: is it Meppel? Groningen? Leeuwarden? Same goes for your final destination: Maastricht or maybe Meersen (because you got that little straightline)? "

I know this machine is built solely on research, research and alot more research on usability. NS invested millions in the design of this machine. Conclusion actually is that people from6 - 106 can use this machine very easily and fault % is much lower than the old machines. Machine is faster and more user-friendly than the old ones.."

Another thing that bothers me is the letter-system to choose a city. After you press the A, you get a new set of letters. It is not clear that they want to know the second letter. Please put 2 letters on the button. The one you chose allready and the second one."

Or you would miss same amount on them both. So that why you need to choose chip or pin. Havent seen the credit card option though. "

And last but not least, the machine can always choose ask for the payment option if a card has 2 systems on one card. If you have enough value on the chipcard for the trip, it is added as option, otherwise PIN can be the protocol right away."

It's more intuitive which result in people getting out of your way faster. I can see you memorized the 4 digit codes for all stations you ever wanted to go, but I've waited countless of minutes for people to look up the station's code... This machine is way better. Period."

donek November 15, 2007, 6:27 pm "Apart from not being able to pay with paper money (and there are sound reasons why that has not been included), all of the criticisms stated here are false. Take a really good look at the three (or are there four) types of ticket machine and try them out and you will see that the newest machine is fine. As always, once people know what they are doing, individual perceptions change. What was the goal? A machine anyone/everyone can use or a machine a few know how to use really quickly? "

You must click on the name of the currect departure station. How logic is that? It sounds logic, but use it, and it absolutely does not feel logic. You miss the information that it is posible to change it."

Other bad things are: * Missing touch feedback (sometimes diffecult to locate button) * Does UID say something about disturbing sunlight in the interface? ;) * Transaction speed And indeed if you know the zip code of an place you often travel to, the old version was much faster in handeling the buying process."

Chris January 19, 2008, 2:29 pm "God so much grievance over this new machine: My bankcard can only be read by 1 out of 10 machines, partly because my card is a little old and bent, but the NS machines are the only PIN machines that always give me problems. The machine should tell you which platform to go to when you get your ticket (and as a bonus an itinirary). Especially great for tourists. It doesn't take bills, so at Amsterdam station all tourists are flooding the service desk"
