The halves can be rotated to select the number a user wishes to dial. When a display on top of the device shows the correct name the device can be pressed as is shown in the movie. This starts the dialing process. This adds a level simplicity so that everybody can use. Even the elderly who are used to the rotating dialing disc phones."
