Old intercity section layout (Redesign of: Intercity train cart) by blanka

  • original
By Redesigner: blanka Placed on: 2007-10-31 00:00:00 The doors are at 1/4 th and 3/4 th of the section length. They also have a column in the middle which devides the passenger stream into 2 fluent streams. The position of the doors and the column, speed up entering and leaving the old trains by a factor 2. Another possitive thing is the position of the luggage racks. They are turned 90 degrees, and accessible from the aisle. This will invite more people to put cases and bags on top instead of on the seats, which the current airplane luggage rack setup does. Last positive thing: with the 4 seat facing setup, trains are used to a bigger extend. The modern bus style seating invites people (mostly woman) to block the window position leaving a lot of chairs to remain unused. It even has 88 seats, more than the recently updated bus style ones which have 86.

Good Redesign?
